The Fires That Foretold Grenfell

In 2018 we were contacted by Amos Pictures via the Isle of Man Arts Council to assist on on producing an element of a one off documentary to be aired on the BBC. The programme was set to analyse fires similar to the Grenfell Tower fire the year before, thus showing that warning signs were there for the tragedy already throughout modern history.

Our particular expertise came from our production The Summerland Story, and the Summerland Fire of 1973 on the island. As our project was already advanced it was decided that a cooperative be set up to allow for exchange of information and production elements to help our respective projects. The Amos team were looking for details, archive and interviewees for their production, as well as local knowledge to help fast track their production schedule. There was a brilliantly collaborative ethos cross over between our two projects and we were both able to help each other massively. As a small media company we feel very privileged to have been brought in to help alongside such an experienced production company.

We very much enjoyed being involved in their project and were very pleased with the final product that was aired on a prime time BBC broadcast slot. Our thanks go out to Owen and Jamie for their open collaboration, and all the positives this has brought to our own future production as well.
